About Owner, Lowell Tukua
Lowell Tukua is a licensed home builder and the founding president of Tukua Builders, Inc. Lowell was born and raised in the state of Minnesota as a second generation Norwegian American. His grandparents were children when they came to the USA from Norway. Lowell's strong work ethic and entrepreneurial, ingenuity was greatly influenced and developed throughout his childhood while working alongside his grandfathers on their farms and with his father, a self-employed business owner of a drainage construction company.
Lowell began his building career initially in Minnesota in1975, with the renovation of older homes and the construction of new ones. In 1977, Lowell moved to the southern portion of the US and has been building in the Greater Shoals area of north Alabama since 2001. Lowell Tukua has served on the Shoals Home Builders Association's board of directors for four consecutive years.

In this time of RISING energy costs, Tukua Builders encourages its customers to incorporate energy-efficient materials and building methods, whenever possible.
Over the past five years, Tukua Builders has seen a substantial increase both locally and nationally for the demand and use of Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) in exterior wall construction. ICF has time and again proven to be an energy efficient and superior building product, with the highly valued durability to withstand violent weather conditions. ICF notably out performs traditional wood construction. Tukua Builders, Inc. is well trained, skilled and highly experienced in ICF construction as well as traditional home building methods.
