History

Lowell Tukua was born in Minnesota as a second generation Norwegian in the USA, his grandparents were children when they came over from Norway. Lowell belives his interest in craftmanship and building goes back to his childhood working along side of his grandfathers.
Lowell began his building career in 1975 with the renovation of older homes and building new ones.
In 1977 Lowell move to the south and has been building in the Greater Shoals area since 2001. Tukua Builders, Inc. is a member of the "Shoals Home Builders Association" and Lowell has been serving on it's Board of Directors since 2005.

Insulated Concrete Form (ICF)

ICF construction is frequently featured on many of the TV Home Shows. This method of construction has become very popular today and becoming the method of choice for new custom homes because of it's being;

ENERGY EFFICIENT (50% or more savings compared to conventional wood construction),
STORM PROOF (with stands hurricane and tornado force winds and flying debris),
QUIET (insulated concrete walls are virtually soundproof), COST EFFECTIVE Usually the cost is between 4% to 9% over conventional stick built construction.
